Hydrodôme, Structural Fire Protection

Hydrodôme is a patented, compact and easily transportable water-spraying ramp designed to create a continuous circular curtain of water mixed with an additive around a home or structure from the roof.

Connected to a motor pump, it delivers up to 2,400 litres of water per hour, or 40 L/min per ramp, adjustable according to the configuration and number of ramps installed. Its 360° nozzles distribute the flow evenly, ensuring complete coverage.

Its effectiveness is not limited to stopping embers and small flames:

Reduction of thermal radiation and maintenance of moisture in the immediate environment

The additive-enhanced water curtain absorbs and disperses the heat energy emitted by a nearby fire, limiting the rise in temperature of walls and roof structures while providing constant spraying to reduce the surrounding temperature and help prevent ignition caused by heat build-up.

Contrary to what is often imagined, flames do not remain stationary around a home. Driven by even light winds, they move rapidly and simply pass through an area. In many situations, a house is directly exposed to fire for only a few minutes.

But those few minutes are decisive.

It is at that precise moment that the heat reaches its maximum intensity, materials rise in temperature, weaken, and may then ignite.

 

A home can therefore reach a critical point very quickly or on the contrary, withstand the fire if it has been prepared in advance.

By acting during this critical period, lowering surface temperatures, limiting burning projections, and maintaining a moist environment, our systems help significantly reduce the impact of the fire as it passes.

Even a brief delay can completely change the situation.

Sometimes, just a few additional minutes are enough to prevent the breaking point from being reached. And it is precisely this period of time that can make the difference between a destroyed home and a preserved home.

A Technical Approach Designed for Real World Conditions

BlazeBlock systems have been designed to address real-world constraints encountered in the field.

Each installation must adapt to its environment, including the roof configuration, access to water, the topography of the land, and exposure to wind.
 

This is why our systems are modular and can be combined according to specific needs to provide even coverage and effective protection for the most exposed areas.
 

Our approach is based on a balance between performance, ease of installation, and adaptability, allowing for rapid and appropriate implementation under real-world conditions.
 

Our solutions are suitable for homes located:

  • In wooded areas or close to dense vegetation

  • In areas exposed to winds that encourage the spread of embers

  • At the wildland–urban interface

  • In areas subject to a high seasonal fire risk
     

They may also be used to protect agricultural buildings, campsites, warehouses, or isolated facilities with roofs made from interlocking or flat tiles.

⚠️ An effective complementary solution that does not replace personal safety measures

Hydrodôme and Hydrojet are not rescue devices and are not intended for personal protection.

They do not replace evacuation in the event of danger, as weather conditions may sometimes worsen the situation, for example strong winds that can increase the intensity of the fire.

Hydrodôme and Hydrojet are designed to protect homes and structures against the rapid spread of fire while awaiting the intervention of emergency services, which may sometimes take a considerable amount of time during major wildfires.

They help prevent homes from igniting due to flying embers and approaching flames, while significantly reducing the impact of heat on structures.

Our system uses the principle of evaporative cooling: at a pressure of 4 to 5 bar, each ramp sprays approximately 40 L/min of water, part of which evaporates instantly, absorbing up to 600 kW of heat and keeping surface temperatures around 100°C, well below the self-ignition threshold.
